Daniel,

I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to send you an email. The Monday
after that rehearsal my studio (and my computer) was moved out to
Pullenvale to work with a couple of artists writing songs and doing
preproduction with another producer. As such I've been email-less and
only got my gear back home a couple of days ago.

After some discussion with Vanessa we've decided to keep looking for a
guitarist. We appreciate your talent and skill, and although your
influences and style are somewhat in the ballpark, we feel we need to be
working with someone who is more accurately aligned with where we want
to take the band.

I can't apologise enough for not letting you know sooner.

you're right, Tim. you'd have a lot of trouble apologising, not so much for the rejection (you've got every right to pick the right person for the job after all...), as for leading me on like that, numbskull.

oh well, my search continues. i've gotten in contact with another likeminded guitarist recently, let's see if i can manage to hold my own there.
